Linas
Factory ManagerI believe that we are all walking down a path of improvement together, and I see how valuable we are.
I joined Hollister in 2018 as a factory manager, while the company was taking its first steps in Lithuania. Becoming part of the Hollister team was a dream come true because I always wanted to try out the pharmaceutical sphere. I also wanted to work for a company that has a strong internal culture based on time-tested values.
From the beginning I believed, and now from experience can claim, that Hollister Incorporated is exactly this type of company. The most vital part of the organization is people. As we create and produce our health care products, we never stop thinking about the customers who will be using them. We value a person’s dignity and always try to be helpful, respectful, and caring.
These basic principles, which represent the company's heritage, are followed every day. For me, the most important aspect is close relationships. While working at Hollister, we are not afraid to communicate boldly and openly. We are constantly sharing feedback and creating bonds through trust. Furthermore, we nurture warm relationships between colleagues and constantly help each other – especially the newcomers.
I find it very important to follow the concept of “no surprises,” which is also part of the Hollister culture. This means that we always try to inform everyone in advance and try to think about all the possible ways that our colleagues can be affected. “No surprises” is very important when serious situations and threats to our goals arise. It allows our Associates to feel safe and secure, and it encourages communication and taking care of each other.
By starting our work in Kaunas – and launching another new page in the Hollister history book – we get the chance to create or start many new processes. I believe that all of us are determined to make progress, and I see how valuable we are – not only to our customers but also to each other.
Personally, I feel valued for my experience, knowledge, and attitude. Having worked in the automotive parts business for a long time, I see a lot of similarities with medical device manufacturing. I can look at everything from a different angle, which is helpful – not only while managing projects, but also while controlling costs, creating a quality system, or solving problems.
Every day, I feel like I’m contributing to customer expectations and working towards my goals. I’m helping Hollister become a better place to work every day.
